The short version: We never store your CV. It is processed in memory and discarded within an hour. We do not sell your data. Payments are handled securely by Paystack, and we never see your card details.
This Privacy Policy explains how CV by Timon ("we", "us") handles your information when you use our CV analysis and rebuilding service at cvbytimon.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
1.What we collect
- Your CV file. The Word or PDF document you upload, and the text within it.
- The job description you paste in for matching.
- Your email address when you make a payment or contact us, used only to reply and send your receipt.
- Basic technical data such as your browser type and approximate region, collected automatically for security and reliability.
2.What we do NOT store
We designed the Service to hold as little of your data as possible:
- Your uploaded CV and the rebuilt version are held only in temporary memory while we process them. They are automatically discarded within one hour, and immediately when the server restarts.
- We do not keep a copy of your CV, your rebuilt CV, or your job description after that window. There is no database of user CVs to browse, search, or leak.
- We never see or store your payment card details. Those go directly to Paystack.
3.How we use your information
- To analyse your CV against the job description and produce your rebuilt CV.
- To process your payment and send your receipt.
- To respond to messages you send us through the contact form.
- To keep the Service secure and working correctly.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone for marketing.
4.Third parties we rely on
- Paystack processes payments. Your email and payment details are handled under Paystack's own privacy terms.
- OpenAI provides the language model that rewrites your CV. The relevant text is sent to their API to generate the rebuild and is subject to their data-handling terms. We send no more than is needed to perform the rebuild.
5.Your rights
Because we do not retain your CV or personal data beyond processing, there is generally nothing stored for us to retrieve, correct, or delete after your session ends. If you have any question about your data, contact us at contact@cvbytimon.com and we will respond.
6.Data security
The Service runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Because we do not persist your CV, the window in which your data exists is deliberately short. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you share while it is being processed.
7.Children
The Service is intended for job seekers and is not directed at anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version.
